After a couple of fruitless attempts from IGAD and the Arab League to mediate between Transitional Federal Government and Union of Islamic Courts, the USA gave the final “GO” to Ethiopian troops to crush the UIC. On December 28th 2006, Ethiopian troops, backed by US warplanes, entered in Mogadishu.
